2015 Dry Riesling

Santa Lucia Highlands

The grapes for this bottling are sourced from a small block of vineyard, steeped in the maritime climate of Monterey’s Santa Lucia Highlands. Harvest commenced on September 24 when sugar levels in the fruit measured a slender 21.5 brix. After a cool and prolonged fifteen-day fermentation, we transferred the wine into an even split of neutral French oak barrels and stainless steel drums. The barreled lot was softened slightly by the seasoned oak while the stainless lot preserved the bright-fruit acidity and pale straw hue. The finished wine was then racked to tank, lightly filtered, and bottled on June 24, exactly eight months after harvest.
